Personal highlights for her so far including getting hand-picked by Snoop Dogg to be his guest on stage during the YouTube Brandcast in May 2013 Niykee has kept up a steady songwriting routine despite the ups and downs of recent times. The young producer is now fascinated by Niykee. She is always looking at latest beats. They often inspire music ideas. I can tell if a beat is good after the first five seconds. Then I'll get a song in my head and start creating right away, she adds. My guitar is set up on the back of my porch and I'll let my lyrics flow. Most of the time, it's done in less than 30 minutes. In her development her skills as a lyricist, Niykee explains that the hurt of her experiences in the past is a constant source of unlikely ideas. Although I don't write literally about things that have been a part of my life, all the hurt of growing up and the loss of my sister end up getting pushed into my lyrics, she says. This shapes my music and provides it with a deeper meaning, which I find crucial. I want to be able listen to my songs in 20 years and still feel proud about the things I've written.
