Dua Lipa is an English performer and songwriter from England who was born on August 22nd, 1995 in London United Kingdom. After working as a fashion model, she decided to join Warner Bros Records and release her first album. The album climbed to number 3 on the U.K. Charts and produced eight singles. They included Be the one I.D.G.A.F, the U.K. Number One single New Rules as well as the U.K. No. 1 single New Rules. Lipa received her Brit Awards in 2018 for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. Her album has been certified platinum in several countries worldwide. Dua Lipa, born to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London on August 22, 1995. By her maternal grandmother, Dua Lipa is Bosnian origin. It is possible to trace her ancestors all the way back to Peja, which was a city within Kosovo. Lipa's grandfathers were both historians. Her sisters are Rina and Gjin. Lipa was greatly influenced in her musical tastes by her father, who was the guitarist and singer in the Kosovan rock band Oda. She grew up listening to music with her dad at home and sang songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa began singing as young as the age of five. At the age of nine she began singing in Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa sang If I'm Not Got You with Alicia Keys and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera to be uploaded on YouTube. Lipa received an agreement to record by Warner Bros. Records in 2014. The singer released her debut single New Love in August of 2015.
